چکیده

A Case of Endoscopic Full-Thickness Resection in a Patient with Gastric High-Grade Dysplasia Unsuitable for Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection

Gastric high-grade dysplasia is an important premalignant lesion in gastric epithelial cells and has a high possibility of transforming to adenocarcinoma. Therefore, biopsy-proven high-grade dysplasia should be treated with en bloc resection methods such as endoscopic mucosal resection or endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD). We report the case of a 63-year-old male patient, diagnosed with ga...

Risk factors for metachronous gastric carcinoma development after endoscopic resection of gastric dysplasia: Retrospective, single-center study

AIM To determine the gastric adenocarcinoma (GAC) occurrence rate and related factors, we evaluated the follow-up results of patients confirmed to have gastric dysplasia after endoscopic resection (ER). METHODS We retrospectively analyzed the medical records, endoscopic examination records, endoscopic procedure records, and histological records of 667 cases from 641 patients who were followed...

Is Endoscopic Mucosal Resection a Sufficient Treatment for Low-Grade Gastric Epithelial Dysplasia?

BACKGROUND/AIMS The rate of diagnosis of gastric adenoma has increased because esophagogastroduodenoscopy is being performed at an increasingly greater frequency. However, there are no treatment guidelines for low-grade dysplasia (LGD). To determine the appropriate treatment for LGD, we evaluated the risk factors associated with the categorical upgrade from LGD to high grade dysplasia (HGD)/ear...

Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection of Early Gastric Cancer: Yes, We Need to Calculate Procedure Times!

t i i fi e t s s t I i The incidence of gastric cancer has steadily declined over many decades, yet it remains worldwide one of the most common malignancies.1 Most gastric cancers arise as a result of lifelong colonization with Helicobacter pylori, inducing chronic active gastritis. An abundancy of research over the past 20 years has yielded endoscopic and non-invasive methods to recognise both...

Differential LINE-1 Hypomethylation of Gastric Low-Grade Dysplasia from High Grade Dysplasia and Intramucosal Cancer

BACKGROUND/AIMS Gastric epithelial dysplasia is considered a precancerous lesion with a variable clinical course. There is disagreement, however, regarding histology-based diagnoses, which has led to confusion in choosing a therapeutic plan. New objective markers are needed to determine which lesions progress to true malignancy. We measured LINE-1 methylation levels, which have been reported to...
